ACHIEVEMENTS - Food Processing
Flavoring quality, enhancing nutrition!
Food processing is the transformation of raw ingredients into food, or of food into other forms; hence, resulting in value
addition to the base product.
Food processing is used to convert inedible agricultural products into edible food items and to preserve the oversupply of
agricultural products for later use. The importance of food processing is to preserve food and hence, free man from total
dependence on geography and climate for providing his/her nutritional requirements. It also enables empowering of agro
dependent population and assists in transforming subsistence agriculture into a full fledge industry.
We have successfully initiated the projects in Ghana 2013
Food processing has three major aims:
- To make food safe (microbiologically, chemically)
- To provide products of the highest quality (flavor, color, texture)
- To make food into forms that are convenient (ease of use)
